Did you get your $10 in free food?

Did you ever sign up for the $10 in free food with Schwan's? I did and it was delivered to my door today! I ordered the 8-1/4lb beef patties, which was $9.99 and didn't pay a cent! :) If you haven't signed up yet, then go HERE now to find out if you are in a delivery area! For the first 500,000 new customers, they are giving away $10 in free food. It looks like they haven't yet reached their limit, so head on over NOW to get in on this deal before it's gone. There are NO obligations to place another order! The guy who delivered mine didn't pressure me at all to order more. He just let me know that if I placed orders online, I save 5% and that I should place orders at least two days before my scheduled delivery dates. Any way...I can't wait to sink my teeth into some FREE hamburgers! :)

SC Johnson's awesome $5 rebate!

So...in case you didn't know...SC Johnson has put out an AWESOME rebate offer that doesn't expire until JULY OF NEXT YEAR!! (Must be postmarked by 7/15/10) The other amazing thing about this rebate is that there is no limit of one rebate per household! Nope. Not even a limit of two per household. Yep. Three. You can submit THREE rebates! How cool is that?

Get $5 back by mail when you purchase ANY 3 SC Johnson Products, including:

• Ziploc®
• Glade®
• Windex®
• Scrubbing Bubbles®
• Pledge®
• Shout®
• Fantastik®
• Drano®
• Raid®
• Off®
• Saran™
• Nature’s Source™

Of course, go figure that the beginning date that the products must be purchased in would be tomorrow. So, unfortunately, none of the items you've bought in the last few weeks will count. Bummer! That would have been AWESOME! But, again, you have almost a year to take advantage of it, so we all know that there will be some great deals to make this puppy a money-maker! Go HERE to print your rebate form. (I keep these forms in a sleeve in the back of my coupon binder so that I can keep track of all rebates. I have a sleeve for rebates yet to be submitted and a sleeve for those that I've submitted and am awaiting my rebate checks.)

Print now before they're gone!

On the first of the month every month, Coupons.com releases they're new coupons! The plus side, of course, is that you have a bunch of new coupons and also that some of the coupons that you already reached the print limit on will be reset, so you can print them AGAIN! The downside is that this also means some of the coupons from the previous month are GONE! So, go head over to Coupons.com (HERE) and print any coupons that you want before they may be gone forever!

Today or tomorrow the coupons will be reset and you'll want to get on and print any of the high-value coupons that you want right away, because they tend to have low print-limits that are reached quickly and when that happens, they're gone!

When I first got into couponing, I made the mistake of printing off ALL of the coupons I wanted at the beginning of the month, then wound up using about a third of them. Lol. What a waste. Generally, the coupons you print from coupons.com expire one month from the print date (this is not ALWAYS the case, though, and you sometimes get longer validity dates) so if you print every single coupon the first day, then if a sale corresponding with that coupon comes, but it doesn't start until the first day of the next month...now you can't use that coupon. Most coupons, you can wait until the week of a sale and print them with no problems, it's just the higher value coupons that you want to print right away before they reach their limit.

Also, don't forget that you can print each coupon TWICE! So, after printing, do it again!

Before printing internet coupons, be sure to set your printer settings to black and white and low quality! Don't use your expensive color ink! I have never had a problem at any store using black and white IPs.

If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment!

I got my Kraft Rebate check!

So....I got my Kraft rebate check in the mail yesterday! $20.00 in FREE groceries...does it get any better than that? :) Did you get yours yet?

This month I also received a check for $29.26 for my RiteAid SCR's, $5.00 for my Tyson Skillet Creations rebate, $5.00 for the Zantac rebate, and $3.99 from Rubbermaid for my Goody headband rebate!

That's a total of $63.25 in rebates this month! Woohoo!

Walmart 9/27

These are some of the great deals I scored at Walmart on Sunday (we already ate one package of hotdogs and part of the one in the picture. Lol. And these are the $3 packages my hubby insists on!)...
I bought:
6 - Mr. Clean Magic Erasers 2pk
4 - Glade Sense & Spray starter kits
1 - Glade Reed Diffuser
2 - Glade Soy Candles 2oz
3 - Assorted McCormick spices/herbs
2 - Oscar Mayer Premium XXL franks
1 - Land o' Frost Premium 1lb honey ham lunch meat
12 - Jell-O gelatin mixes (small box)
1 - Duracell C batteries 4pk
The total that all of these items should have cost me is $64.22. I paid $17.65. That's a savings of $46.57 or 73%!
Here is a list of coupons I used...I am not exactly sure of the dates at the moment, as my coupon binder is in the car that my husband took to work so I can't look them up. Sorry! Remember, IP's can be looked up using the KCL printable database! Just click the link over in the right column>>>
3 - BOGO Mr Clean
3 - $1/1 Mr Clean
4 - $4/1 Glade Sense & Spray
1 - $3/1 Any Glade Fragance Collection item IP (for the reed diffuser)
3 - $1/1 McCormick IP
6 - $.50/2 Jell-O (exp. today!)
1 - $.75/1 Duracell
2 - FREE Glade Soy Candle

30% any one item at Archiver's!

Now through October 7th you can use the printable coupon HERE for 30% off any one item at Archiver's! I absolutely love this store and what a great coupon! If you've never been into one, now you have an excuse to go check it out! :)

Where to send your expired coupons...

You probably already know (but maybe you don't) that you can send your expired coupons to military families overseas! They are able to use them up to 6 months past the expiration date! I previously posted a link (HERE) where you could go to get more info on sending your coupons, but now KrazyCouponLady has made it even EASIER to send them! She has put together a program where we mail them to a woman here locally that will, then, send one large package. Isn't that awesome? You can go HERE to get all of the information you need, including the address to send them to. It doesn't mention anything on the site, but I think it would be great if you are able and willing to also send maybe a dollar or two just to help cover shipping costs. NOT a requirement, though! Just a thought.

They do ask that you only send your coupons once per month, and will be sending them out during the second week of each month. I just think it's totally awesome that they are doing this and making it that much easier for all of us. Hopefully, that will make many more inclined to do it, too!

Did you know....

...that Target is doing a new thing where you get a $.05 credit for every reusable bag you use at checkout?? I did NOT know this! It does not have to be a Target bag, just any reusable bag (can't be plastic)! I only own two right now, but I used them and saved $.10! We coupon gals definitely know how far $.10 can go! Lol. So, if you have reusable bags, though you should use them everywhere you go, you DEFINITELY don't want to forget to bring them with you to Target!
Thanks MoreThanCents!!

I also have an extensive Coupon Vocab page (with photos) HERE if you are unfamiliar with some of the lingo you see on this or other coupon blog sites.

If you are to the point of trying to figure out the best way to organize your coupons, you must check out my Organization 101 HERE page for a LOT of different ideas, including the method I use!

If you need help with learning how to use GrocerySmarts, you may be able to find the answer to your questions HERE.

You can also review the different stores' coupon policies HERE.

**All of the links to the above pages can be found along the top navigation bar (under my header) for easy reference if you need to get back to them at any time.

30% off all used blu-rays!

Right now at goHastings.com, you can get 30% off their used blu-rays! There are tons under $10! I found some as low as $5.80! Shipping starts at $2.99 and it's $1 for ea additional item. If you have a blu-ray player and hate paying the high-price of blu-ray movies, then go check out their used stuff! You could score some really great deals if you don't mind used! Click HERE to start browsing.

Have you done your Walgreen's shopping yet?

If you haven't, then you should head there tomorrow or Wednesday in order to take advantage of the $5 off $25 coupon available HERE (only good 9/29 & 9/30)! If you use it on top of all of your deals, then you will get some even sweeter deals! Walgreens is usually pretty strict about not letting you use the $5 off $25 until AFTER coupons, though, so you can try just getting your total to $25 before coupons and handing over that coupon first before all of your other manufacturer coupons, but I won't be taking the risk. I'll just make sure I'm at $25 AFTER coupons. Here's a deal scenario to get you thinking...

Buy:

1 - Vaseline Sheer Infusion lotion ($6.99)
1 - Gillette Fusion MVP Razor ($8.99)
1 - Halls Refresh Sugar Free 20ct ($1.00)
1 - Dentek Floss Picks ($2.00)
2 - TheraFlu Nighttime 6ct ($8.00)
1 - Oral B Advantage 1-2-3 toothbrush ($3.00)
1 - Herbal Essence Hair Care product ($2.99)
1 - Chapstick Fresh Effects ($2.99)
1 - Dawn Dish Liquid ($.99 w/ in-ad coupon)

Total: $36.95

Use:
1 - $1.50/1 Vaseline HERE or here: IE or Firefox
1 - $4/1 Gillette (PG 9/27)
1 - $.75/1 Halls (SS 9/27)
1 - $1/1 Dentek HERE
2 - $2/1 Theraflu (the print limit is reached on this one, so hopefully you already printed yours!)
1 - $.75/1 Oral B (PG 9/27)
1 - $1/1 Herbal Essence (RP 8/23, exp 9/30) or (RP 9/27)
1 - $.25/1 Dawn (PG 8/30 or 9/27) or $.50/1 from the Home Made Simple coupon booklet

Total after coupons: $25.70 (or $25.45 depending on which Dawn coupon you use)

Use $5 off $25

Total OOP: $20.70 or $20.45 (plus tax)

BUT, then get back $7 RR for the Lotion, $6 RR for the razor, $1 for the Halls, $2 RR for the Dentek, $4 RR for the Theraflu, $3 RR for the Oral B, and $2 RR for the Herbal Essence! That's $25 in RR's!

If you have any RR's from last week, then you could bring your OOP down even more! The RR's CAN be used AFTER the $5 off $25. If the cashier won't let you, ask to speak to a manager. Explain to them that those are coupons, same as cash, and the store is getting that money, just from the manufacturer instead of you, the consumer! You shouldn't have any problems doing that, or at least, I never have at any of the three Walgreen's I shop at.

Then you could do this transaction:

2 - Pond's Dry Skin Creams ($4.59, after BOGO sale)
2 - Pamper's Jumbo Pack Diapers ($20.00)
1 - Emergen-C Booster ($3.49)
1 - Robitussin DM to-go 2pk ($2.49)
1 - WetOnes Wipes ($1.99)
4 - Cheap filler items ($.10 pencils, $.25-.45 clearance candy/gum) (1.00)

Total: $33.56

Use:
2 - $1.50/1 Pond's IE or Firefox or from HERE
2 - $2/1 Pampers (RP 9/13) or (PG 8/30, exp 9/30)
1 - $1/1 WetOnes IE or Firefox

Total after coupons: $25.56

Use $5 off $25 store coupon

Total: $20.56

Pay with $7, $6, $4, and $3 RR from previous transaction and pay only $.56 (plus tax)!! PLUS, get back a $3.50 RR for the Emergen-C booster and $2.50 for the Robitussin!

All in all, you will pay $21.01 for ALL of the above items, PLUS still have $8 in RR's!
Now, the coupon does say there is a limit of one coupon per customer per offer, so I am not sure if all Walgreens will let you do two transactions. You could do them in two trips or if you're close to two Walgreens, shop one for each transaction. I have never had a problem using more than one of these coupons at my Walgreens, but YMMV...

These are just a few scenarios to get you thinking. Your store may be out of a few items and you'll have to make some substitutions, just always keep in mind that you have to have as many items in your transaction as you do coupons and RR's count as coupons! So if you plan on paying with RR's you will have to make sure you have enough items to cover them, or add some cheap filler items to balance it out.

Albertson's Preview 9/30-10/06

HERE is this week's Albertson's preview list, thanks to PYP! NOT a very great week, if you ask me. I seriously might skip Albies this week...I guess if there's doublers then some of the deals will be ok. I might go for a couple of things. No word on doublers yet, though, that I've found. DO pay attention to those deals using coupons that expire on the 30th! If you want to use them, you'll have to go Wednesday!
Keep in mind that this is Utah's list, so Idaho's may vary.

Want free cat treats?

In case you have a cat and happened to miss it, there was a coupon for one FREE 2.1 oz pouch of Purina Friskies Natural Sensations brand cat treats, any variety in the SS 9/27. If you have a cat or know someone who does, you definitely don't want to miss out on that coupon. It does not expire until 11/30, so you have plenty of time to use it. I have 6 from my 6 Sunday papers that are up for grabs if anyone has a cat and would like these. Just leave a comment in the comment section! First person can have them...I'll just have you email me your address and I will mail them to you.

Albies trip 9/27

I didn't get much at Albertson's this week, mostly just produce and using up some doublers. Here is what I bought:
2 - Uncrustables Sandwiches
2 - Bagelfuls
6 - Albertson's diced tomatoes
3 - Campbell's Soup-at-Hands
2 - Hershey's Kisses w/ almonds
3 - Libby's sliced carrots
2 - Star wine vinegars (white and red)
1 - Alexia Crunchy Snacks
3 - Jolly Time popcorn (3pk)
1 - Minute Maid orange juice
4 - avacados
1 - 1lb bag baby carrots
2 - Canteloup
1 - 2lb brick colbyjack cheese
1 - Cascade rinse agent
2 - Pace Picante Sauce (not on sale, but we needed it and I had to buy two to use the coupon)

Total that all of these items should have cost me was $89.38. I paid $25.40. That's a savings of $63.98 or 72%! Considering I got quite a bit of produce, that's not too bad!

I had FREE coupons for the Star wine-vinegar (from a survey I participated in recently), the Alexia Crunchy snacks (from a rebate a while back), and the Cascade Rinse Agent (from the Home Made Simple coupon book I got in the mail a couple of weeks ago.

Here are some of the other deals I used with my doublers...

Campbell's Soup-at-Hand $1.00
Used $.50/1 from SS 8/30, plus a doubler
Final cost: FREE!

Jolly Time popcorn $1.00 (my store had some in the 10 for $10 section at the back of the store near the dairy section)
Used $.50/1 from SS 9/27, plus a doubler
Final cost: FREE!

Bagelfuls $2.49
Used $1/1 IP, plus a doubler
Final cost: $.49!

Smuckers Uncrustables $2.79
Used $1/1 IP, plus a doubler
Final cost: $.79! (this is a great price for these!)

Libby Vegetables $1.25
Used $1/3, plus a doubler
Final cost: $.58

Pace Picante $2.50 (must buy two to use coupon)
Used $.75/2, plus a doubler
Final cost $1.75 ea

Hershey's kisses $3.00
Used $1/1 from SS 9/13, plus a doubler
Final cost: $1.00

Albertson's 2lb brick cheese $5.49
Used $1/1, plus a doubler
Final cost $3.49

I still have one set of doublers left...not sure what I'll be using them on. The 12th and Greenhurst store was OUT of doublers when I went last night...:( SO sad. Lol. The other Albertson's might have some, though? There are a LOT of coupons getting ready to expire on Wednesday, so I would imagine that with the new shopping list for the upcoming week, you might have to plan on going shopping Wednesday in order to take advantage of some of those coupons, but we'll see.

If you want to see a list of the coupons getting ready to expire, head on over HERE to see the great list that FabulesslyFrugal compiled for us. :)

Looking to get a Wii? Here's a great deal!

Right now Amazon has the Wii, plus a $25 Amazon gift card for $200! Plus...shipping is FREE! Click HERE if you're interested!

A fun use for some of that paper...

So, if you're getting your multiple Sunday papers each week (like you should be!), then you know how quickly it piles up! In my family, we generally recycle it every week, but there are a few more uses!

First of all....all of those comics? My husband had a very thrifty idea to use it as wrapping paper for gifts! Not only does it not cost anything, but it also looks great and can be used for children or adults! I save mine each week and just keep it stacked in the closet until I need some, then I mix and match it to wrap gifts.

You can also use newspaper for laying down on the table under art projects to keep the table clean of paints/crayons/glue/glitter/etc.

Another great idea is using it as stuffing! You can make your own scarecrow for your porch this year! Just get some old jeans and an old plaid shirt (or whatever long-sleeve shirt really) and stuff them both with the newspaper. Sit your "scarecrow" up in a chair and prop him up. For a head, you can stuff a small pillowcase and draw on a face, add a straw hat, maybe even some yarn-hair, who knows? Your possibilities are endless, but newspaper makes great stuffing for this project. Another thing you can use newspaper for stuffing with is for a ghost. Take a white garbage sack and stuff it with a bit of newspaper shaped into a ball (for the head--only fill about 1/4 of the bag), then twist shut and secure with a piece of string, a zip tie, whatever, leaving the other end flowing open. Then draw on two black circle eyes, and voila! You have a ghost that you can now hang up anywhere you want.

I'm sure you already know this, but maybe some don't...did you know that newspaper is GREAT for cleaning mirrors and windows? Don't waste all of those paper towels, just spray the window with Windex and use a newspaper for a streak-free clean!

Anyone else have any other great uses for newspaper? I'd love to hear them!

In the paper today...

Today you'll find three coupon inserts, one SmartSource, one Redplum, and one P&G Brand Saver. They are pretty big inserts this week and packed with a ton of great coupons! You can definitely see the change of the season as now there are a lot of coupons for things like cough drops, cold medicine, lip care products, chicken broth, and condensed milk. Lol. I can't wait to start stocking up on those kinds of things though!

Another coupon I always love in my Sunday paper is the Michael's 40% off coupon. Even better this week is the coupon for an ADDITIONAL 25% off your entire purchase of wall and tabletop frames (which a lot are already on sale for up to 40% off!). This is definitely a coupon I could use with having just gotten family pics taken! :)

There was also a coupon for an all-day savings pass of 15% off at Macy's (exp. 9/28) or 20% for cardholders.

I also noticed that at Fred Meyer's this week you get double points on your rewards card! I don't shop at Fred's too much, but just in case others do, this should be a good week!

Lastly, in Parade Magazine there was a link to go to to download a free game called "Splash," which retails for $19.99. Just go to parade.com/games. It says "Get ready for some fast-paced fun in this exciting action-packed challenge. Splash is a blast and fun for all ages!" Could be a fun game...I'll have to check it out.

Internet Printable Database

I added a cool new button to my blog (over in the right side-column). If you are unfamiliar with the KrazyCouponLady's Internet Printable (IP) Database, then you should definitely click on the button to check it out! She keeps an extensive and current directory of all of the printable coupons floating around in cyberspace! If there is ever an IP that I mention but do not give a link to, you can now go to the database and find it quickly and easily (they are sorted alphabetically). I use it a lot when I know there's an IP out there but I can't remember exactly I am supposed to find it, or when I am looking at my ads each week and think, "Hm...I wonder if there's an IP for this?" It's easy to look it up and find out within seconds. :)

I would definitely recommend checking it out and even bookmarking it! It's a GREAT tool for those of us who use printable coupons and applies to you no matter where you live! Go click the button!

A new blog for us locals!

So...the fabulous girls at FabulesslyFrugal have decided to start a really great blog for those of us in the local Boise area, called BoiseBargainBabes! It's not just any other frugal living blog, though, they've invited other local people to become contributors to the blog! It's a place to share not only coupons and local deals, but also a place for us all to dish about our favorite (or NOT so favorite) stores, which cashiers we love (or do NOT love), which stores are stocked up on which items, etc! I think it's going to be a lot of fun and a great place for us all to really help each other out. And, guess what? They've asked me to become a contributor!

I'll be doing my part in helping to post local info and deals. If I post it on their site, I will probably post it on my own also, so you won't miss my posts either way, but by going to the new site, you can now view everyone ELSE'S posts also! It's just starting out, so I am sure it will continue to grow tremendously over the first couple of weeks, even though it's a little slow-going right now. I can't WAIT to see what kind of great things we are all going to learn from each other! :)

What are you waiting for? Go check it out HERE and don't forget to become a follower so you don't miss anything!

iTunes "Single of the Week"

I never knew this before, but thanks to SheShopsSmart for letting us all know that every week iTunes has a new "Single of the Week" that is FREE to download! I just listened to the one for this week, and it's not really my cup-of-tea, but thought others might enjoy it. So go check it out and if you like it...it's yours, FREE! Then, remember to check back each week for something new. :)

MIA

It's been another one of those weeks where I've been MIA...stil trying to adjust to the hubby's new schedule and have been getting little to no sleep the last few days. Ugh. Any way...I am going to try to play some catch up this evening and hopefully get some new stuff posted. Bear with me!

HERE is the upcoming week's Albies list (9/23-9/29) and, YES, there will be more doublers Wednesday...wahoo! Remember, this is Utah's list, so Idaho's may vary slightly.

Thanks PYP!

This made me laugh...

PYP did a post entitled "You might be a PYP'er if..." that made me laugh out loud. Here are some of my favorites...

....nothing in your house has UPC's
....you grab a snack out of the pantry your wife proudly tells you how much it cost. "That granola bar was only 4 cents, honey!"
....you can't remember a single birthday, but you know how much you paid for every item in your pantry.
....you have food stashed under your bed, in your closet, or taking over a room in your house.
....your wife flies out of bed at 4am- jumps into her clothes- throws makeup on & styles her hair- just to run to the store for FREE cereal, but she can't seem to wake up every Sunday @ 9 a.m. to get ready for church on time!
.... your kids come home from the neighbors (another PYP'er) and ask why they have all the same toys and snacks that you do!
....your coupons weigh more than your purse.
....you ask your daughter what she wants for her birthday and she replies, "I dunno. What ya' got coupons for!"
....you gasp at the shopper in line behind you and exclaim, "You should NEVER pay for gum, EVER!"
....you come home from a shopping trip and lay out your groceries on the table with the reciept and your before/after totals circled, take pictures of it, and post it on your blog
....when nobody has to ask who put 27 full-size tubes of name-brand toothpaste in the church donation bin for the needy.
….it's 6:08 AM and you're on your 2nd transaction at Albertsons.
....you think the zebra at the zoo looks like a bar code.
….you own more tubes of toothpaste than pairs of underwear.
….the local Disaster Preparedness Class instructor asks permission to hold a field trip in your basement.
.…your idea of a "quiet, romantic evening at home" involves scissors and inserts.
….your kids take a 6 ft register receipt to "Show and Tell."
….Betty Crocker makes your list of most admired people.
....you get an adrenaline rush from reading next week’s printable shopping lists.
….you’ve ever woken up from a nightmare screaming “I lost my Binder!“
....men send their wives up to you in the store asking "how did you do that?"
....your daughter's classroom always wins the pizza party for the most boxtops.
....your cashier has to have a manager over-ride the register because you have so many coupons.

Check out the full post on PYP. :) And be sure to check out the comments section, as some people added additional ones in the comments that are hilarious!

Crocs: Buy one Fall style, get a spring style free plus FREE shipping!

I, personally, am not a big Croc fan, but I know some people go crazy over these shoes! Lol. So, I thought I'd pass along this deal that PYP shared. Right now you can go HERE and when you buy one fall style pair, you can choose a spring style FREE! PYP also states that it's free shipping, but doesn't mention a code, so I am assuming when you add them to your cart it will tell you that your shipping amount is $0.00? This offer is good through 9/30 while supplies last. Be sure to read the details of the offer for any exclusions!

Don't forget to look for these!

I found these AirWick i-Motion starter kits at my Walmart on rollback for $5 (reg. $6.29), and I got 10 of them. They should have cost me $50 (or $62.90 at reg price!) but by using my $4/1 AirWick coupons (SS 8/9, 8/30, 9/13) to get these for $10! These would make great pieces for gift baskets as well...:) So, if you're headed to Walmart, be sure to check for these!

Got my free makeup...

Went to RiteAid on Tuesday and got my free makeup. They were pretty picked over by then, so I had to get two different kinds, but that's ok by me....it's FREE!

These were BOGO at RiteAid and I used two coupons for a free face product when you buy a foundation (PG 8/30) to make all four of these FREE! :) Woohoo! This sale goes on until Saturday, so definitely go get yours if you like CoverGirl!

Albertson's 9/16-9/22

Sorry there was no preview this week...I was pretty busy running around yesterday so never got a chance to sit down at the computer.

HERE is this week's Albies list (thank you PYP)...and YES, there are doublers in the ad!! Remember, when the doublers are in an ad, and not actually on a page of the newspaper, you can get them in the store. They no longer put the ads out with the doublers in them because people kept being greedy and taking them, but you can go to customer service and they will give you some. Depending on the person working behind the counter you will sometimes get just one set, sometimes they'll hand you a few! If you go one day and then go again another day, you can go request another set.

Any way, so yes...there are doublers...and lots of great deals to be had. I don't have time to post a complete blog of deals, but head on over HERE to FabulesslyFrugal for a list of the best deals and a few doubler ideas, and HERE for even more doubler ideas. Thanks FabulesslyFrugal!

2 - Gallon milks
3 - max pack chicken legs and thighs (can't remember the actual amount in lbs)
1 - bag of gala apples (about 8lbs)
1 - Trop50 Orange Juice
1 - Tropicana premium OJ
These items should have cost me $117.69. I only paid $44.69. I saved $73.00 or 62%!
I did this in 4 transactions:
Trans #1
20 - Beechnut Stage 2
2 - Juicy Juice 8pk
Used 1-$1/2 Juicy Juice (RP 8/9), 2-$1/10 Beechnut HERE, plus 3 doublers, plus a $5 cat I had from last week's promo, making my OOP $1.00. (Yup...$1!!)
Trans. #2
30 - Campbell's soup
2 - Albertson's bread
1 - Albertson's buns
Used 3-$.40/3 Campbell's (SS 9/13), plus three doublers, making my OOP $15.87. I then received a $5 OYNSO for purchasing $15 in Cambpells (have to spend $15 BEFORE coupons).

I then received a $1 OYNSO for the Juicy Juice (I'm guessing when you buy 4 or more you will trigger it. The details were not printed on the cat like they usually are, so I don't know the ending date for this cat.
Trans #4
6 - Klondike Choco Taco
Used 3-$1/1 Klondike (this was an IP available last month on coupons.com), plus three doublers, making my OOP $0.00. (Yup...$0.00) :)
I ran out of time to use very many doublers, so will be heading back tonight...

FREE covergirl make-up at Rite-Aid!

I have not been shopping at RiteAid lately, because the last couple of times I went...EVERYTHING I went for was out...and it's not exactly right around the corner from me. It's a little bit of a drive. So, I just haven't felt it's been worth it for the drive the last couple of weeks, in case they were out of everything again.

Well, I am DEFINITELY heading there this week! Remember that great Cover Girl coupon for buy one foundation, get one face product free (PG 8/30)?? Well, this week at RiteAid, wouldn't you know it...CoverGirl makeup is BOGO!

So, what that means is that you can buy two foundations that are priced the same and with the RiteAid sale, you will get two for the price of one. BUT, then you can use one of those BOGO coupons from the insert, to get the other one (the one you're paying for) FREE! So that's two for free!

To make this deal even more awesome...

use a $1/1 CG coupon (PG 30) for the one you're "paying for" to make this a $1 MM! IF they'll let you do it...not positive that they will. Make sure you have other items in your transaction though, to soak up the overage, as they will not pay you to shop there. Lol. There are some other great RiteAid deals you can check out at hip2save. Don't forget to print the $5 off of $25 coupon HERE to make your deals even greater!

A few ideas for those doublers...

Alright, so without the doublers, this week's Albies sale was not all that great. However, with the doublers and with some of the coupons we got in today's inserts...there are a few GREAT deals out there...click HERE to see my previous post with a few doubler ideas.

(Not sure what "doublers" are or how to use them? Click HERE to read my doubler info post)

There are quite a few options, but I'm going to tell you about some of the ones that I, personally, am excited about and plan on doing...

Campbell's Chicken Noodle or Tomato soup = $15 for a 30 can case
Receive a catalina for $5 OYNSO for purchasing $15 or more in select Campbell's products
Use 3-$.40/4 Campbell's soup Q (SS 9/13) plus three doublers
OOP = $12.60, plus receive a $5 OYNSO, so $7.60 for 30 cans of soup!!

Cooking Light Magazine (price unknown)

Use $1/1 (RP 9/13), plus a doubler = $2 off the newsstand price! I really love when magazine coupons come in the mail and wait to use them for when we have doublers. They usually don't expire for at least a month, so if you use one now you can get the October Issue and then at the beginning of next month get the November issue, so you get to take advantage of it twice!

Stouffer's French Bread pizza (if this variety is included in the $1.88 Stouffer's/Lean Cuisine entree sale)
Use $1/2 Q from the Nestle Planning Calender (if you received that by mail)
Plus, use a doubler making your OOP $1.76 for both or $.88/ea!

Juicy Juice 8pk is still on sale 2/$4, use the $1/2 (RP 8/9) plus a doubler, making it FREE!

Yoplait yogurt (4-6oz) - $.50 ea
Buy 8 = $4.00
Use 2-$.75/4 yogurt IP at Group A (print it twice), plus 2 doublers making your OOP $1 for 8 yogurt cups or $.13 ea!

I'm sure there are lots more, those are just the immediate ones I thought of and plan to do myself. I'll try to add more if I get a chance. Be sure to leave a comment and share any ways you think of to use your doublers! Also, don't forget that TODAY only you can get $.88/lb chicken (drumsticks, thighs, or whole legs), a 5lb bag of Russet potatoes for only $.99, Albertson's white sandwich bread (first 4) and Albertson's apple juice (64oz) for only $.99 (first 2)!! I'll definitely be picking those up while I'm there!

Is it Christmas??

I cannot even believe everything that was found it my papers this morning! Even the BAG they came in came bearing gifts!

Inside the bag there were two samples, one of Banana Nut Cheerios and one MultiGrain Chereios, plus two high-value coupons! $1/1 of each of the two cereals! Wishing you were subscribed to the paper now?? Lol.

Inside the paper there were more great things to be found...such as FIVE coupon inserts!!! Two SmartSource, two RedPlum, and one General Mills!

Of course, we all knew there were doublers coming, but still a great thing to see!
Also, in the Parade Magazine there were two coupons, one for $.75/1 Surf laundry detergent and one $.75/1 Hormel Compleats.

Another coupon I was totally excited about was the Michael's 50% off one item coupon! Usually these are 40% off, so this is AWESOME! When I went to Michael's last week to use the 40% off coupons, I got lots of coupons on my receipt for 50% off also, so I have even more to use!

Wow...I've got a LOT of clipping to do! If you are just starting couponing, this is a GREAT week to start! Definitely buy some extra papers to really get your coupon stash growing right away! These will go FAST at the newsstand, so I would go get them early!

Follow me on Twitter!

**For some reason I'm having issues with the gadget on the right side of the page working the way it's supposed to. I'll try to get it fixed as soon as possible, but in the meantime, you can still follow me on Twitter by going HERE and clicking "follow." Thanks for your patience....

My darling husband has introduced me to yet another way to help share the deals...I have now joined Twitter! If you are not familiar with Twitter, it is a site that allows you to post short updates that your followers can receive instantly via their mobile phone, or can just access online any time. It will probably take me a while to get used to, but I hope to start getting better with keeping them up-to-date and passing the deals on to you as I find them.

I have a little gadget over there on the right ---->
(You might have to scroll down a little to see it.)

This new gadget (My Latest Tweets) will allow you to see, directly from here, my 5 latest Twitter updates. (You can also click the link that says "Follow me on Twitter" to become a follower now) When you become a follower, if you elect to do so, you can have my latest tweets texted directly to your phone. Or, if you have a Blackberry, you can download the Tweetcaster application (from Blackberry AppWorld), which will alert you to new posts. (if you need help with this or have any questions, feel free to email me!)

Why is this so great? Well, there a few great things about this! First of all, now if I'm out and about at, let's say, Albies and I spot a big clearance bin in the back of the store where you can score FREE items using a particular coupon, I can whip out my phone and post a Twitter update with the details. You, then, receive instant notification (if you elect to have updates sent to your phone, which you should if your text allotment allows) alerting you to this deal. You might even happen to be right around the corner from Albertson's and now you know to stop there on your way home and snag this great deal!

Also, when I post a new blog, I will also post a Twitter update. You will, again, receive instant notification of this via text or Blackberry alert.

I am brand new to Twitter myself, but I can tell you that it's SUPER-easy. Just go HERE and sign up! Once you sign up, or if you already have a Twitter account, just click on the "Follow me on Twitter" link on the right. :)

If you have unlimited texting and want to receive up-to-the-minute alerts of new blogs and new deals, here are the instructions for signing up for mobile updates of my tweets:

*From your Twitter homepage, click "Settings" in the navigation bar on the top right of the page.

*Click the "devices" tab

*Enter your mobile number and be sure to check the box that says it's ok for Twitter to send you text messages.

*Now, go back to the homepage (click "home" in the navigation bar)

*If you are not already a follower of my tweets, become a follower HERE.

*At the top of the right column you will see your list of how many you are following and how many followers you have. Click on "following."

*From this page, you can edit your phone update settings. You should be able to turn "on" AlisCouponBlog. That's it! You will now receive instant texts when I post a new deal or blog update!

If you have any questions, feel free to email me and I will try to troubleshoot for you.

FREE KIDS MOVIE RENTALS at Hollywood Video!!

Holy cow! Now you can go to Hollywood Video and get a free 5-day rental of one of their many kid movies available in their free Kids' Free Rental selection. Apparently, Hollywood video is launching a new promotion that scores you free kids' rentals all year long, and the best part....NO PURCHASE NECESSARY! They are simply based on a first-come-first-serve basis and each family may only rent one movie at a time. Sheesh...now I wish I had a Hollywood video a bit closer to me!

You can read the press-release HERE

Probably a good idea to call your local Hollywood Video to make sure that they are participating.
Thanks Hip2Save!

Meal Planning...

I know I am so behind on this...two days to be exact...I'll try to get my weekly menu plan done this evening...*crossing fingers)*

I don't think I've gotten my "Tuesday Menu Plan" posted on a Tuesday YET...lol.

Walmart 9/10

FINALLY! I had been checking at my Walmart every time I went for the last couple of weeks, hoping that they had finally restocked their Chinet Lunch plates, but had constantly been disappointed to see an empty shelf every time. Today when I went, however, there were tons on the shelf! Woohoo! If you don't know why I'm so excited about this, then you must have not used your $2/1 Chinet Lunch plates coupon from SS 8/9 yet! These were a high value coupon that made the plates (priced at $2.36 at Walmart) only $.36/ea for a 36ct package! So, only $.01/plate! SWEET!
Any way, so in addition to getting my 7 packages of plates, I also used one of those great coupons I told you about recently from PG 8/30 for Buy one Cover Girl foundation and get one face product FREE. The coupon has NO limitations. No max value for the free item, and no specification on what the product can or cannot be! As long as it's in the "face" product group (not eyes or lips). Essentially you could BOGO on the foundation if you wanted! I needed both foundation and concealer so I bought my TruBlend foundation ($8.34) and got the TruBlend concealer ($6.94) FREE! This is going to make for one AWESOME coupon when paired with a sale. I just needed these items NOW, so used one, but I have lots more to use when it's time to take advantage of a sale! Can't wait! What a great coupon....
I also bought a Clean & Clear Morning Burst facewash ($5.48) and used a $1/1 (SS 8/2)
Total before coupons = $37.28
Total OOP = $15.34
I saved $21.94 or 59%, which is pretty good at Walmart! Lol.

Walgreens 9/10

I bought:

1 - 14ct Crest Advanced Seal Whitestrips (sale $39.99)
Used $6/1 Walgreen's in-ad coupon
Also used $10/1 (PG 8/30)
Received $5 RR

2 - Crest Whitening Scope mouthwash (sale 2/$7)
Used 2 $.75/1 (PG 8/30)
Received $5 RR

2 - Crest Whitening Toothpaste (sale 2/$7)
Used 2 $.75/1 (PG 8/30)
Received $5 RR

2 - Glade Scented Oil Glass candle holders (sale 2/$4)
2 - Glade Scented Oil refills 3pk (sale 2/$4)
Used 2 Buy one candle holder, get 1 refill free (SS 8/23)
Received $1 RR

1 - Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner (reg. $19.99, sale $9.99)
Used $5/1 HERE
Received $3 RR

1 - Dove Chocolate bar (clearance $.72)
1 - Royal Dynasty chocolate bar (clearance $.37)
1 - Splash mini sticky note pack (clearance $.30)
1 - Butterfinger Crunch bar (clearance $.22)

Total before sales and coupons = $102.96
Total I paid = $49.17, but also received $19 in RR's to use same as cash on my next Walgreen's purchase. It would have been $39.17, but I left my previous $10 in RR's at home. :( So, now I still have $28 in RR's to spend. :)I saved $53.79!

I can't wait to try out the automatic shower cleaner! And my husband loves the whitestrips, so he'll be happy to hear that I got such a great deal on them. :) The scented oil glass candle holders are actually pretty big, and they are really pretty! There was also a $2/2 Glade scented oil candle products inside the candle holder package!

Also, my Wags (on the corner of Midland and the Blvd) has tons of clearance candy throughout the store! Great items to use as fillers to reach your coupon to item ratio!

If you're new to Walgreen's shopping and need some help, click HERE!

Great Enfamil deal at Babies R' Us!!

Thanks to Hip2Save for letting us know about this GREAT deal! You can go HERE and print a high-value $5/1 coupon for any size Enfamil Premium powder formula (after it prints, before you close your window, click your browser's back button three times and it will print AGAIN!). This coupon is great in and of itself, but right now Babies R' Us also has a $4/2 Enfamil coupon HERE (this is for the 23.4oz or larger can)! Since this is a store coupon, you can stack it with the two $5/1 manufacturer coupons so you will be getting $7 off PER CAN! That's pretty great! And if you have access to more computers, you can print two off of each computer and do this deal again! The Babies R' Us coupon expires 9/17. I'm not sure when the manufacturer coupon expires, as I haven't printed it, but hopefully you'll have at least until 9/17 to go get your formula.

Albies preview 9/9-9/15

HERE is this week's printable shopping list for Albies. (If you're not sure what to do with this list, go HERE to start learning the system!)

Thanks to SuperBob at HotCouponWorld, you can go HERE to view the preview ad. There is also a sneak peak of THREE doublers on Sunday, also. Once again, I will probably wait until then to do my shopping, making the deals this week even sweeter!

Although it doesn't really appear that there is too much to get excited about. :( There might be coupons coming out in this Sunday's paper that match the sale, but if not...this might be a great week to take a break! (Crazy, huh?) The only things I see at first glance that I like are:

Gala apples - $.88/lb

Tropicana Orange Juice or Trop 50 (59-64oz) - $2.79
Use $1/1 Trop 50 HERE, plus a doubler
OOP = $.79

Swanson broth - $.79

Beechnut 4oz Stage 2 baby food - $.40
Buy 10
Use the $1/10 (HERE)
OOP = $3.00 for 10 jars or $.30/ea
If you can use a doubler, OOP would be $2 for 10 jars or $.20/ea
(I haven't printed the Beechnut coupons yet, myself, so am not for sure whether the $1/10 can double, but even if not, they are still a 5-star price with just the coupon.)

Quaker Chewy granola bars - 3/$5
Buy 6 = $10.00
Use 3 IP's HERE (will need 2 computers), plus three doublers
OOP = $4 for 6 boxes or $.67/box
(there is also a $.75/2 Q from RP 8/30 that would make these $.84/box)

Ken's Salad Dressing - $2
Use $1/1 (SS 8/2) + a doubler
OOP = FREE!

Don't forget to stock up on hamburger at Paul's!

Today is the last day of the sale at Paul's Market, where you can get hamburger for $1.68/lb. This is a stock up price! It generally goes on sale down to this price every couple of months, so if you have the freezer space, you might want to buy as much as your family will use in two and a half to three months. By doing this, you will be stocked up on hamburger until it goes to a rock-bottom price again, saving you from having to run to the store multiple times within the next couple of months to buy hamburger at $2-$2.50/lb! Stocking up on meat when it's at its lowest price is one of the BEST ways to save your family money!

What to buy, when...

My husband told me about a great article that I thought would be great to pass along. It was an article in USAToday, and you can view the entire article HERE.

Basically, it is a list of what items you should buy at what particular time of year. I previously posted a list of grocery items and the best time of year to buy them (you can read that post HERE), but this is a great list for all of those other items we buy!

We all know that the best deals on seasonal items come AFTER the season is over. For example, it's best to buy your children's winter clothes as spring approaches and they're clearancing all of the winter items. You would not buy them for that year, of course, but, instead, purchase them a year in advance for the following year, thus paying the lowest possible prices! By planning out your purchases a year early, you will save your family hundreds to thousands of dollars!

So, here is the list of what items to buy when, according to USAToday:

Tuesday Menu Planning...

Boy, oh boy...I just can't believe how quickly time is going by! My baby boy is going to be two tomorrow! Yikes. I'm not doing very good at getting these out on Tuesday am I? Lol. Alright, so here is my menu plan for the week. I managed to stick to the menu plan pretty well last week, but definitely still have room to improve! Boy was that fair food yummy! This week features lots of ideas for using up those Grands Biscuits we'll be getting for FREE at Albies this week with the $1/1 coupon here: IE or FF (or close to free with the $1/2 coupon HERE or HERE) as part of the General Mills promo. The $1/1 coupon is a brick coupon, so after you print it once, you can hit your browser's back-button three times and it should print again! You can print it twice off of each computer in your home. The $1/2 coupon can be printed twice from EACH link above. I don't know if I'll fit them ALL in this week, but wanted to throw them all out there for you to get you excited about biscuits and so that you don't feel guilty in buying a bunch! They are so much more versatile than you may have realized! Good thing I never wound up buying biscuits at Walmart for last week :) My mouth is watering already...

:Breakfasts:
Pancakes, eggs, bacon, OJ
Cereal w/ milk, toast
Homemade scones (using the Grands Biscuits, just tear in half, flatten, and deep fry in the vegetable oil that we got cheap last week. Then add some butter, sugar or honey and enjoy your heart-attack on a plate!), cantelope, milk
Yogurt-peach-granola parfaits
Egg/sausage/cheese biscuits (yep, you guessed it, using the Grands biscuits)
Granola bars, yogurt, OJ
Biscuits and gravy

If you've never made biscuits and gravy it's so super simple (and oh so delicious) Just brown your sausage, add flour (about 1/4 cup per half lb of sausage) to soak up the fat along with some salt and pepper. Do not drain! That's where the flavor is! Then, over medium heat, gradually add about 3 cups of milk while stirring constantly with a wire whisk. Cook until it thickens and then serve over warm, split biscuits. Scrumptious!

:Lunches:
Tuna sandwiches, pickles, chips, juice
Hormel Compleats, mixed veggies, chocolate milk
Mini Pizzas (again, using the Grands Biscuits), milk
Banquet frozen meals, juice
Totinos pizza rolls, green beans, strawberry milk
Lunchables, Cheez-its, cantelope, juice
Leftover Lasagna

:Snacks:
Rice Krispie treats
Cheerios snack mix w/ grapes
Cheesesticks and kiwi
Fruit Snacks
Cheesesticks and Cheez-its
Jello cup
Cantelope slices

:Dinners:
Chicken Pot Pie (for this recipe and lots of other great recipes using up those Grands biscuits we're getting such a good deal on this week, go check out KrazyCouponLady's post HERE)
Sloppy Joe Biscuit Rounds (check out this recipe HERE and MANY more at Pilsbury.com)
Biscuit Taco Casserole (recipon on Pilsbury.com HERE)
Macaroni Grill Dinner kit, cooked carrots, garlic bread
Stouffer's Lasagna (I bought this a while ago and need to use it up), corn, cottage cheese
Hamburger Helper, green beans, dinner rolls
Ashton's birthday party is on Labor Day, so that will be lunch AND dinner. We'll be bbqing either chicken/ribs (haven't decided yet) plus burgers and hotdogs, pasta salad, baked beans, chips, plus any salads/sidedishes that guests bring.

:Desserts:
Monkey bread (recipe for this can also be found on the above KCL post)
Zucchini Muffins
Whole Fruit bars
Fruit w/ cool whip
Popcorn
Birthday cake!! (from Betty Crocker mix-German Chocolate)
Leftover birthday cake. Lol.
