(Nampa, September 18, 2009) For the second year, the City of Nampa has been designated as a “Playful City USA” community by KaBoom! Playful City USA is a national recognition program that honors cities for their commitment to expanding play opportunities in their communities. Nampa is the only city in the State of Idaho to receive this distinction.
To celebrate this designation, the City of Nampa will host a “Play Day” on Saturday, September 26, 2009. The community is invited to Play Day, which will kick off at Osborne Park with a proclamation reading declaring September 26th “Nampa Play Day.” Additionally, the City will offer free games, treats and prizes. The purpose of Play Day is to encourage everyone to get out and enjoy fun recreational opportunities. Play Day on Saturday, September 26, 2009

• Prize drawing
• Jump house and games including Frisbee golf exhibition
• Cotton candy and snow cones

Cost: Free!
What: Free Admission to Nampa Rec Center
Time: 8:00am‐7:00pm

What: Golf for Kids at Ridgecrest Golf Club
• A round of golf for kids (6‐17 years) on 9‐hole course
• A bucket of golf balls for kids (6‐17 years) at driving range
Time: 10am‐2:00pm
Where: Ridgecrest Golf Club, 3730 Ridgecrest Drive, Nampa
Cost: Free!
What: Introductory Archery Lessons for All Ages at Nampa Bow Chiefs
Time: 10:30am‐2:00pm
Where: Nampa Bow Chiefs, 222 West Railroad, Nampa
Cost: Free! Equipment use also provided free of charge!
The Nampa Playful City USA Task Force helped organized “Play Day.” This committee was established by Nampa Parks & Recreation and includes a diverse group of community leaders concerned with play opportunities in Nampa. The combined efforts of the Task Force and Play Day partners demonstrate Nampa’s commitment to play.
