Product price comparisons...

Last week I showed you a price comparison between Walmart's price on their Great Value shredded cheese and what I could get the same size NAME-BRAND shredded cheese at Albertson's for. (Click HERE to check it out and see how store brands are NOT always saving you money)

Well, I thought it might be fun to do some more comparing of prices on items we are getting for cheap at Albertsons and Walgreens each week with the prices you will find at Walmart. I might even make this into a regular weekly post, because it just really is fun to see. These are items that were on sale last week:

This Crest toothpaste at Walmart is regularly $3.77, but is on rollback for "only" $2.97. If I were to pair that with the $1/1 Crest coupon from a previous insert, it would still be $1.97. However, last week at Albertson's they were part of a promo where when you spent $30 on participating products, you received a $10 OYNSO for a future purchase. I bought these, plus some Pantene shampoo and conditioner, used a bunch of coupons, plus paired them with some doublers, and after all was said and done, I was able to get SIX tubes of Crest toothpaste for...FREE. Yup. All six...FREE. I would have spent $11.82 on the same six tubes of toothpaste at Walmart. I saved 100% on my toothpaste!

At Walmart all John Freida Frizz-Ease hair products are $5.37. They used to be $4.97, but they have jumped up in price. (I know this because I buy John Freida Frizz-Ease Heat Defeat regularly. Well, last week at Walgreens, when you bought two products for $10, you got a $5 RR back, essentially making these $2.50 each! No coupons required. Simply a BETTER PRICE. I was able to get 6 products for only $15. At Walmart, these same 6 products would have cost me $32.22! I saved $17.22 (over 50%) just by waiting for a sale and stocking up on an item I would normally purchase frequently for a higher price.

At Walmart, the Children's Motrin is priced at $5.67. I had coupons for $3/2, which would make these $4.17/ea for every two I were to buy. Last week at Walgreens these were priced at $4.99 (already a better price), however, on top of that, when you bought 2 or more participating products (there were other items, but the Children's Motrin was one of them), you got a $3 RR back! So, after using the same $3/2 coupon, it was like paying $1.99 for each item. I bought 6 of them (would have bought more, but never made it back to the store) for $11.94. The same six at Walmart would have cost me $25.02. I saved $13.08 (or 52%) by waiting for a sale and matching up my coupons to that item.

These are just a few of the items I save on each week. It's not just FOOD! I save on everything from medicine to hair products, make-up to cleaning supplies, diapers to toiletries, magazine subscriptions to toys.
