Albies 7/10

Using up some more doublers!

I did this in 6 transactions: My OOP was $21.75 for $67.22 worth of items, which is a savings of 68% (not as high as usual, but this included mostly non-sale items, including the Little Huggies Swimmers)

For the following items, I just broke them down into sets of two per transaction and paired a doubler with EACH coupon I used:

4 - Nature Valley Nut Clusters ($.49/ea, I used 2-$1/1 printables)
1 - Playtex "Living" gloves ($.69, after $1/1 (coupons that were given to me, not sure where they came from)
1 - Playtex disposable gloves ($.19 after $1/1 coupon, same as above)
4 - Rhodes Warm-n-Serve rolls ($.69/ea after $1/1 tearpad coupon)
1 - Huggies Little Swimmers ($6.89 after $1/1 coupon from mailer. Anyone know what these run at Walmart? I haven't price compared them yet)
1 - Johnson's baby bath product ($2.19 after $1/1 coupon that was given to me)
2 - Sunny D Smoothies ($.40/ea after $.55/1 printable)

These items I just used a single coupon on that could not be doubled:
2 - Pillsbury Simply Cookies ($1.25/ea after $1.25/1 printable)
4 - Hot Pockets ($.89/ea after in-store ad coupon and $.50/1 (SS 5/17)

So, the Pillsbury cookies and Hotpockets were the only things that were actually on sale. The other things I bought because even though with a coupon they might not have been a 4 or 5 star item, by pairing with doublers, it made for some great deals! I used most of them because they were coupons that were expiring. I am going to go make a trip tomorrow, as well, to use up some doublers with some coupons that are getting ready to expire, like the MILK coupons! Sometimes it's ok to let coupons expire without using them, if you can't get a good enough deal to justify it...but if you can still get a pretty good deal, especially by pairing them with a doubler, then do it!

Albies 7/09

This was a trip that I took last week, but never got finished posting, so it's a bit late, but this is how I used a bunch of my doublers...

Total this should have cost me: $94.68. I paid $21.22, plus have a $2 OYNSO, FREE milk (up to $4.79) coupon, AND got a free Redbox rental...not bad!

Unfortunately, the free milk promo ended yesterday, which is why I went in last evening to take advantage with my doublers!

Transaction #1
4 - Lucky Charms (2.00/ea)
6 - Kraft Mac n Cheese (1.00/ea)
-$5.00 Epic Promo discount

I used 2 $1/2 GM Cereals printable & B3G1F Kraft (SS 6/28) plus two doublers, making my OOP $6.46, plus I received a $2 OYNSO cat (from the Kraft mac-n-cheese promo) AND a cat for FREE milk up to $4.79 (from the General Mills promo).

#2
4 - Cinnamon Toast Crunch (2.00/ea)
6 - Kraft Mac-n-Cheese (1.00/ea)
4 - Sobe Life Waters(1.00/ea)
-$5.00 Epic Promo Discount

I used 2 $1/2 GM cereals printables, $ B3G1F Kraft (SS 6/28), 2 B1GF Sobe Life Water printables, plus two doublers and my $2 OYNSO cat from previous transaction, making my OOP $4.00, PLUS I got another $2 OYNSO, and a free Redbox movie rental code! SWEET!

#3
1 - Chinet Comfort Cups (2.50)
1 - Chinet Cut Crystal Tumblers ($2.29)

I used 2-$1/1 Chinet (SS 6/28) and two doublers, making my OOP $.79

#4
1 - Cascade Rinse Aid (3.79)
1 - Snapple Ice Tea 6pk (there were some clearance packs in the back by the meat section that were marked down from $6.99 to $4.99, plus they had a $1/1 peelie stuck to them!)
1 - Vitamin Water 4pk (These were not on sale, nor did I have a coupon, but my husband wanted some, so I got them on this trip) ($3.99)
1 - Real Simple magazine ($4.99)

I used 1-$1/1 Snapple peelie, 1-$1/1 Real Simple Magazine (RP 6/28), a coupon for a free Cascade Rinse Aid from my HomeMadeSimple coupon booklet I got in the mail a couple of weeks ago, and two doublers, making my OOP $9.97.

Not bad, considering I got items that weren't even on sale in there like the Cascade Rinse Aid, the magazine, and the Vitamin Water!

I wonder if I am doing something wrong because it only let me print each coupon once.

Usually you just have to use your browser's back button to print the coupon a second time. Sometimes you only have to hit it once, but sometimes it will send you to a "Web page cannot be found" page or something similar...in this instance, you must press your back button TWO MORE TIMES (a total of three clicks) and it should take you back to print again. If not, then you can also try restarting from the beginning and going to the same link again and starting over. If you use Firefox, sometimes it will ask you for permission to "resend" the information...do it. If none of that works, then...um...I am not sure what else to try! I was able to print each coupon twice, though, so I know this isn't one of those links with coupons you can only print once...Hope that helps!

Did you catch the DOUBLERS!!

We were told there were no doublers in the ad, but Albies was tricky again and kind of hid them! They're on the back of your RedPlum insert in both the Tribune and the Statesman! Didn't want anyone to file these away without catching that, so make sure you get them! They are actually valid for 10 DAYS! They don't expire until the 21st! Woohoo! (sorry for the bad picture...it's just from my phone)

Pictureka Card Game for $.24!

***UPDATE*** it appears these coupons are no longer available...but if you happened to have printed them off already go get your $.24 game!

I'm sure you've read everywhere about the Piktureka card game that you can use your $5/1 any Pictureka game printable (found HERE) and get super cheap....well, I'd been trying to do that for a while. I tried Target...sold out. Tried Walmart...sold out...or so I thought!! I was looking in the very back by all the other card games and stuff they have in the boardgames section, but couldn't ever find. Well, they had it on a little hanging display in front of the boardgames...so if you haven't used it yet, go use it! Cheap $.24 game, and if you print it twice and get two....a nice little gift for someone...:)

Two inserts tomorrow

So there will be two inserts in the paper tomorow, one SmartSource and one RedPlum. If you'd like to see a list of what coupons will be in these, go to Taylortown Preview! Don't forget, however, that we don't always get all the coupons and sometimes not for the same value...but if you want a sneak peak, check it out!

For all you MOMMIES!

There's some great Johnson's baby products coupons that you can get HERE totaling $9.00! Don't forget to print them twice (just hit your browser's back button) The links are on the right side of the page. Go print yours now while they last! :)

Thanks fabulesslyfrugal!

Doubler contest

Haha...so...I realize it was really short notice on the doublers, but hey, what can ya do? Lol. Any way, we had one entry and one winner! Lol. So Martha...there are 12 doublers with your name on them! :) Just email me and let me know when you want to come get them, and I'll try to be available or we can work something out. Congrats! :)

Who wants more doublers??

First of all, I wanted to point something out, in case anyone was unaware. Does your subdivision get those free newspapers delivered that you find in your driveway and that usually get left there for days before you finally go out there and pick it up (after it's all sun-bleached and soggy from the sprinklers) only to throw it away? DON'T!!! There is an Albies ad in there! Which means that if there's ever a week with doublers in the Wednesday ad (like this week) there are FREE doublers in there! You don't even have to buy a paper (unless, of course, you are already subscribed and already get one) Even if you have a subscription, there's EXTRA for you in there! SO...what did I do? I went walking/driving through the subdivision and asked people who still had theirs in the driveway if I could have theirs! I figured if it was still there by Friday afternoon, they must not want it or must not care about it. Which, of course, was true, as not a single person said no! I also took the ones from driveways of houses in which no one lived.

Awesome for me...but also awesome for YOU! I've decided to have a little contest and share all the doubler love...two winners will each get 12 doublers! Pretty simple to enter and only one condition upon entering...you MUST send me your photo and totals (how much you spent, what your savings was, what items you got) for me to post on my blog. I want to see what you DO with the doublers you win! Please only enter if you truly plan on using them!

Alright, so here's how to enter...to be eligible to enter, you must be a follower of my blog (if you aren't yet, go ahead and become one NOW...as long as you are a follower by the time the contest ends, you will eligible. (To do this just scroll to the top of the page and along the top navigation bar you will see a link to click that says "Follow Blog.")

Once you are a follower...there are two ways to enter (you CAN enter both ways)

*you must either make a post on your blog telling others about my blog and this contest and post the link in a comment.

*you must get someone else to become a follower of my blog (friend, family, whoever) and tell them to post a comment telling me who got them to become a follower.

The winner will be chosen at random from all entries (remember you can enter twice by completing both entry requirements) so, yes, the same person could win both sets if they entered twice!

I don't know what kind of response this will get, but I always see the other blogs doing contests like this and thought it might be fun. :) You will have to come pick them up (I live off of Middleton and Smith) or I could see about leaving them at the customer service desk at Albies with your name on them...I'm not sure, but we'll figure it out. :)

You only have until 4pm tomorrow to enter, as I want you guys to get these doublers ASAP (these don't expire until Wednesday by the way)

Walmart trip 7/08

This should have cost me $56.62. I got it for $43.12. Not bad, considering this is at Walmart. It amazes me to think that I used to think I was saving SOOO much money by shopping at Walmart and buying Great Value brand everything...now I can hardly stand when I have to shop at Walmart because I can't save NEARLY as much as I can at my beloved Albies...crazy, crazy....

Free Sugar and lots of cheap Kool-aid!

So, don't forget about that coupon from SS 6/21 "Buy any 10 Kool-aid packets, get $2 off sugar." (this doesn't expire until 7/31, so you have a little while to use it, but the Great Value sugar is marked down to $1.45 right now). This should have cost me $12.25. I paid $2.25 plus tax. So that's free sugar, and Kool-aid for $.04 a packet. :)

Reader's Deals

So my friend Mandy was getting a little discouraged with this whole coupon thing. She had had a number of unsuccessful trips that had left her feeling very frustrated with everything. She didn't feel like she was getting the hang of it and she was half-tempted to give up...well, luckily she hung in there and even though it took her a little while, I think she's definitely getting it down! Look at the great job she did! (and she even broke it down for everyone...)

FREE Hefty OneZip bags at Walmart!

Walmart has some of their Hefty OneZip storage bags at $1...use $1/1 from SS 5/17 and they're FREE! It looks like they don't have many left, but there were more cases behind and to the side of it, so hurry up and get over there...these probably won't last long! I don't know how long this price will last...

I scored four of them and got some super cheap chicken...it was on mark down and also I had some $1/1 Tyson Fresh Chicken product coupons from about a month ago...this should have cost me $12.19, but I got it for $6.19 plus tax. :)

Thanks athriftymom for this great info!

Quick Note on Printables

I just wanted to take a minute to troubleshoot a problem that you might be having when it comes to printing coupons from the internet. When you click on a link to a coupon, and then click "print coupon," sometimes you will see "please wait..." at the top of a blank screen. You wait and wait...and nothing happens. For the longest time, I just assumed that this meant that that offer had expired or the coupon limit had been reached. However, I'm just barely figuring out that it, for me any way, has meant that I have clicked a link that was for a different web browser than what I was using. For example, I use Mozilla Firefox (FF) and so I would get that little "please wait..." quite often. Again, figuring it was just an expired coupon, I let it go. Well, come to find out...if I switched over to Internet Explorer (IE) it worked just fine! :) So...sometimes blog sites will give you two separate links...one for IE and one for FF. Click on the one appropriate for the web browser you are using. I have also found, though, using FF, that sometimes even when I click on a link that says it's for FF, it still gives me that message. So, in that case, I will switch over to IE any way and it seems to work just fine.

You may have figured this out right away, but it took me this long to figure it out, so I thought I would share this with you now, so that in case anyone else is as slow as me, it might help you out, too. I sure wish I would have figured that out sooner! :) From now on I will try to post links for both IE and FF whenever possible, but sometimes one link will work for both...and if you find that any of the links don't work, please let me know and I'll try to get it fixed ASAP. Thanks!

Doublers YET AGAIN! (7/8-7/14)

Alright, so if you haven't checked out this weeks Albies ad, you can do so HERE. If you haven't yet looked at the shopping list, you can do so HERE. There weren't really any deals I was jumping out of my chair for this week, considering the Epic Promo continues yet again this week, and I've pretty much already exhausted most of my coupons. There are a few things I might head for on Sunday should there be three more doublers as is rumored. If not, then I think I'll just pass this week. Any way, so yes, if you haven't gotten your paper yet today or you are not subscribed, you should know that there are TWO doubler ("twice the value") coupons in the Albies ad! There are a few things I probably wouldn't get if it weren't for doubler coupons, but once you doubler, it makes for some really great deals...

**Just realized these have the dreaded "Do Not Double" on them...darn...Sorry!**
Pillsbury Simply Cookies 14oz - $2.50
Use $1/1 HERE - $1.50
Use a doubler and they're only $.50/ea!

Sun Chips (these are my FAVE!) - $2.79
Use $1/2 HERE - $2.29/ea
Use a doubler and they're only $1.79/ea!

Hot or Lean Pockets - $1.39 (Limit 6 and requires IN-AD COUPON)
Use $.50/1 (SS 5/17) - $.89
Use doubler and they're only $.39/ea!

Starbucks Doubleshot coffee (anyone know if these are good? I've never had them...) - $2.00
Use $1/1 (SS 6/21)
Use doubler and they're FREE!

I'll also probably get the Sobe Life Waters that are on sale for $1, but use the B1GF HERE.

These are probably the only things I'm going to get this week...unless there happen to be more doublers on Sunday, then I might make a trip for one set of 10 from the Epic promo...but man...I'm sure ready for a new sale and a Vegas week! :)

Kellog's Fuel for School Rebate!

There is a really neat rebate promotion going on from Kellogg's. All you have to do is purchase 10 participating Kellogg's products between July 6, 2009 and September 30, 2009 (note that all items must be purchased in the same transaction and you must send in the UPC symbols, the rebate form, and the original register receipt) and send in the rebate form and you'll receive a $10 rebate check plus a $70 coupon code from Dell.

The participating Kellogg's products are:

  • any Kellogg's Cereal (10 oz. or larger)
  • any Keebler or Austin Product (8 oz. or larger)
  • any Sunshine Product (8 oz. or larger)
  • any Eggo Product (4 ct. or larger)
  • any Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Cereal Bar (8 ct. or larger)
  • any Kellogg's Special K Cereal Bar (8 ct. or larger)
  • any Kellogg's Pop-Tarts Toaster Pastries (8 ct. or larger)
  • any Kellogg's Reice Krispies Treats Squares (8 ct. or larger)
  • any Kellogg's Fruit Flavored Snacks (6 ct. or larger)
  • any MorningStar Farms Veggie Foods Product (5 oz. or larger)
  • any 100 Calorie Right Bites (6 ct. or larger)

Go to Kellog's.com and log in to your account, or create a new one (Remember to use your coupon/freebie email address!). Then go HERE to print of your rebate form.

Right now, with the Eggo BakeShop product deal going on at Target, one way you can complete the rebate requirements is:

Buy 10 Eggo BakeShop products at Target this week for $1.50 each
Use 8 $1/1 coupons here, here, here (or here), and here (remember, you can print form each link TWICE)
Spend $7 plus tax out of pocket
Send in your receipt, the UPC codes, and the rebate form
Get $10 rebate check from Kellogg's
Essentially, you are making $3! (not including tax and price of stamp)

The other websites post that you can use multiple computers to get even more coupons, making your OOP even less and making this even more of a money-maker, but I, personally, choose to abide by the "2 IP's per household" rule. Just my own personal preference, but should you choose to do so, you could also print more coupons from a second computer and use one coupon for each of the $10 items, which would give you another $2 off, making your OOP $5, so you'd be making $5 and getting a lot of frozen breakfast products at a great stock-up price (FREE!). If you don't need and/or want that many Eggo BakeShop products, I'm sure there will be MANY more opportunities to take advantage of the promotion, as you have the rest of the summer! If you come up with or across any other ways to take advantage of this dea, be sure to let me know! :)

Thanks to Abundant Food Savings for this info!
